Media Guidelines

Media wishing to attend the Conference must have their credentials verified by the Army Public Affairs Office. Please contact Dave Foster, Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, with the following information:

  1. Reference point of contact to confirm your media affiliation - please include name, phone number and e-mail address.
  2. The venue where you will publish or broadcast your story/coverage (Newspaper, Internet, TV, Radio).
  3. Date story is likely to appear.

Conference Attribution

All events at the conference are open to news media and are considered “on the record.” Conference attendees have been given the guidance to accept interviews from the media, but to be informed that all interviews are on the record.

Coverage Procedures

All media representatives will report to the public affairs registration area in Hemisphere B to sign in and obtain badges. Badges will be worn throughout the conference. Personnel found without badges will be removed from the premises by security. If a badge is lost, report the incident immediately to on-site public affairs representatives.

Interviews

Designated interview rooms are available at the conference. Contact Dave Foster, Army Public Affairs to schedule interviews or reserve interview rooms. Same-day interviews are available on a case-by-case basis. The number of interview rooms is limited. Please schedule interviews early to ensure that an interview room is available.

Topics

Media representatives are asked to focus on the conference subjects, panel discussions and speakers’ topics.

Question & Answer Periods

News media representatives are encouraged to ask questions during question and answer periods.

Public Affairs Assistance

Army Public Affairs will be located in the Media Center in the Hemisphere B Room.
