SECURITY, STABILIZATION, TRANSITION, RECONSTRUCTION AND PEACE OPERATIONS

When: December 12-14, 2006

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This program is by invitation only.

Overview: The United States Army Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) will conduct an unclassified training workshop from 12 - 14 December 2006.

Responding to the increasing complexity of contemporary peace and stability operations in locations such as the Middle East, Balkans, and Africa, military, civilian, police, and non-governmental organizations are collecting critical lessons learned and modifying their training methods. Emerging training strategies and programs must cater to a widely diverse audience with varied missions. While these circumstances may create some curriculum and instructional variances, experience has shown that the sharing of ideas and best practices between practitioners significantly aids in improving and providing the best training possible for the entire peacekeeping and stability operations community.

The workshop will bring together training experts from the military services, the Joint Staff, international and non-government organizations (NGO), interagency offices, and selected institutes and centers of excellence to share peace and stability operations training information.
